Higher Education
In this latest release, we have added Academic Years 14 to 20 (age 19 to 25) so that subscribers can plan for up to 7 years of higher education in addition to (or instead of) planning for private education. Higher education costs do not vary from institution to institution in the same way that Independent School fees do so for the time being we have included a single “generic” higher education institution for planning purposes:
University / Higher Education
Estimated annual future UK higher education costs assuming:
- Tuition fees:£9,000
- Subsistence:£3,000
- Accommodation:£3,600
- Sundries:£1,000
- Total:£16,600
You will find the above institution under U on the A-Z or type Higher Education into the schools search. The above assumes that the current proposed legislation to increase the maximum tuition fees to £9,000 will be enacted, and that most universities will eventually charge fees at this level.
This will cover the requirements of the vast majority of cases, but if there is demand for variations to be added to the database (lower tuition fees or perhaps higher or lower accommodation costs), let us know and we will happily include them.
